Songs

Well, this is where I’ll upload some of the material I’ve written. All material here is original and mine. If used in any way, I’d like to be asked first, and credited after. Thanks. Songs may have repetetive themes, but I write about whatever I think about, so yeah.

*History being reworked*

Format is band I’m writing for, title, text.

~The Serpentine Betrayal

Within lacked vice.
Through my ripped, worn eyes.
Brought about your lies.
Like a plague of flies.

Wretched harlot speak, my cage is failing.
Dismembered at my feet
I do not suffer you to weep.

Behind the serpentine flesh
Therein lay envy
A carnal lust

And mortal remains.
Of trust you defile
Enslaving tongue of lust
Human be not beast reviled

Always the breaker of trust.

There once lay a heathen
Terror and rage
Lay within its chest
Mourning the betrayal,
Of an ungrateful wretch.

The maggots feed free,
On vile corpseflesh.

A thousand slain
The cadavers, fresh.

Wretched harlot eternal torment.
Forever you burn.
My mercy, spent.

~Ophelia, You Love. (In Progress)

The endless fable of her love.
Such deceitful insanity lain within.
Numb to the world, lost withing herself.
Perishable grace broken in memory.

Innocence lay, behind that face.
He was poisoned by the venomous whispers.
A dangerous pantomime, without way to know.
Lest the beauty fade, the malice, flow.

Ophelia, destined to love.
Thy cruel fate.
Caught in a web, of evil intricacies.
Delicate in lace pale white.

Nobody left to notice.
Ophelia dead by night.

With,

This is still a work in progress, and it’s based loosely of the Shakespeare play, Hamlet, and also off the life of a friend. This song also feels as if its been written in a wordier fashion, maybe because of the Shakespearen influence, which makes me feel like I’m writing more of a poem than a song. But this is only a draft, a rough idea. I’ll edit and add more later.

~The Back Of Your Head Never Looked So Lovely

I had the lyrics for this somewhere. Will post when I find them. The song was written about the many things people feel, when they see the person they have feelings for walking away. Not necessarily walking away in a “I’m leaving you” kind of way, but just in general, walking away.

Postcards From Nadine

~Shhh…

I take a look, the greying sky
I can’t see my silver lining.
I look at you, deep in the eyes
And I know why I’m fighting.

Holding on, we’ve got nowhere to go.
Move along, we’ve seen every show.

(No) Don’t say a word.
(Oh) We’ve let us down.
(Yes) We cannot stay.
(I don’t want you to) Shhh…

Into a mist, the corner of my eye
Clouds have passed, you hide behind.
To the grass, elysium fields
We’ve been through, through it all.

We have each other, nobody else
We have each other, nobody else
We have each other, nobody else
We have each other, I’m all by myself.

(No)But you made it
(Oh)And you faded
(Yes) Just forget

I know. There’s always a next life.

We could be (No you won’t)
We could be (No you won’t)
We could be (No you won’t)
We could be (No you won’t)

Shhh…

That was an old, very old song, I think I wrote it in sec 3. Had to do with conflicting feelings between two people. And how they still put up and stuck together. And then died. Pfft.

~And The Clock Struck Twelve

(And The Clock Struck Twelve)

One night left, rush to the garden.
Take my heart, we’ve got time fallen.
Going home, back, back, back, to the place.
Where it lay, and now they’ve stolen.

Now, we’re counting, down. (Down)
The time to the end of the lies.
Indundated, we’ve been seperated.
The time till the end of the love.

Morning breaking, night’s spell has been broken.
Memories glazed, upon your eyes.
Our time is running.

(Seperating)

No one replaces a heart.

Now, we’re counting down.
The time to the end of the world.
You, I hated.
This shit is overrated.
The time to the end of the world.

(Guitar solo outro)

More or less following the story of the same person, while showing how his life changes. This song is the “Breakup” part of our story. Our original idea was for an album with songs that together told a story. The next song was supposed to be about the boy (or old man as he’s aged) passing on.

Postcards From Nadine

~The View

We stand tall
Upon a cliff.
Cloudless sky.
It’s never hard to die.

Here but gone,
You wait my arrival.
I’m walking with,
An angel from on, high.

How’s the view from up there,
I hear the clouds are sad.
The dew falls for the dying,
Deep down, I hear you crying.

Cloud’s are crying, somebody’s dying.
Somebody’s giving, they’re believing.

Concrete dolls,
Of ashen discord.
We could do this (You know)
Close our eyes.

How’s the view from up there,
I hear the clouds are sad.
The dew falls for the dying,
Deep down, I hear you crying.

Cloud’s are crying, somebody’s dying.
Somebody’s giving, they’re believing.

And all we had was (hope)
All we needed was time.
And all you had was me.
And all I have is you.

Patience.

That one, the man’s on a cliff and his wife’s already passed away. So he stands there under the overcast sky, he knows his time is coming, but he’s deciding whether to speed it up and take the plunge. In the end he doesn’t because he believes she’s there with him anyway, and she’d want him to enjoy his last few days upon the earth, before they leave for their happiness.

Postcards From Nadine feat. Tojo

~The Randomness Of A Blunt Egg

Tojo : I love superman, mary had a little lamb.

This was an instrumental piece, we were just having a good time at Aydan’s jamming along with each other, but I guess since everything was improvised, we can’t ever play this the way we did. If we did it’d probably be nowhere close to how it originally sounded.

Postcards From Nadine

~Marina Alexis

Glittered skies, on blue galaxies. When I’m with you, they’re all I can be.
Give me the keys, and we’ll travel to that place.

Raven hair and lips so scarlet. (Rush) Calm my head, just like a bullet.
You need me and all I need is you.

Blood stains your, lips. From biting too hard.
Anxiety drips, I’m holding the trump card.

Started with a kiss, it’d be a pity to miss.
A love like you, and this I’ve got no clue.

Magpie eyes, wanted them to see us.
Without you, there’d be no need for tears.

Take my hand, we’ll never land.
Second star to the right, we’ll be out all night.

And I, don’t want to grow older.
I wished, we’d stayed the same.
And we, we could go on forever.
You, your heart just can’t be tamed.

We’re joining our lips, we’re writing a postcard.
The wonderful trips, a-lighting boulevard
Together we’d kiss. No longer we miss.
A love like you, and I love you (No).

And all I want now is to go back,
And all I want is to be, forgiven.
I would give this up but would you take that.
Being so close, this can’t be heaven.

This kinda came up one night when I was just writing about the first things that came to mind. I think when I was writing this I was writing about things between me and some girl, the title is actually a play on her name. The lyrics might be sometimes contradictory? That’d be because it was a very tumultous relationship. I guess this is the song I’ve been most proud off, because I spent the most time on it, developing musical structures and what not. It was quite a waste that by the time I’d finished with a basic structure and the lyrics were suitable, the band split.

Postcards From Nadine

~Hey Men! We’ve Been Cornered!

Heathen walls, are pressing around me.
In a moment, dismembered I’ll be.

Dead and lying, waiting not moving.
There I’d see, what it is I’m failing.

Open, open it up to me.
Inside, it’s inside you really see.

Where I’ve been,
there’s something lying in wait.
But the scene,
There’s something, oh it’s gone, it’s too late.

Watching you, oh,oh,oh, within.
Makes me want, to full out beat him.
I’ve been here, and I’m not waiting.
I watch you smile. It’s not me who’s failing.

Broken to me, broken you seem.
Beside where I’ve been, beside you, within.
I’ve seen what I’ve seen,

I’m broken, and it can’t wait.
There you’ve been.
It’s your face I can’t seem to hate.

This song’s about a person who’s muse has made made stupid judgements, based on facts she’s jumped to conclusions about. And he gets angry, and leaves. Even though he knows she will fall without him. However, strewn throughout the song is his reluctance to do so.
